Hi Team,
How can we decrypt a USB Encrypted with Offsite Access. Is their any policy in ePo which can help for Decryption? I know that we need to run manually the EERM.exe from USB and then enter the Password and take a copy of data and format the USB.
Also In FRP Policies, Under" Encryption Option " Policy, how Key Request Exclusions and File Extension Exclusions work? Can you please elaborate with an Example. Will this policy support Removable Media Encryption Exclusions?
Thanks in Advance!
Hi @Vinay555 ,
Question: How can we decrypt a USB Encrypted with Offsite Access. Is their any policy in ePo which can help for Decryption? I know that we need to run manually the EERM.exe from USB and then enter the Password and take a copy of data and format the USB.
Answer: You cannot decrypt the encrypted USB thumbdrive, While encrypting the USB, FRP creates a container and then encrypts the container, so we actually provide the password to unlock the encrypted container and access our files.
Question: Also In FRP Policies, Under" Encryption Option " Policy, how Key Request Exclusions and File Extension Exclusions work? Can you please elaborate with an Example. Will this policy support Removable Media Encryption Exclusions?
Answer: The below explanation is from the Product guide. These do no support Removable Media Encryption Exclusions.
Key Request Exclusions | Enables the process (such as anti-virus) to exclude encrypted files if required encryption keys are not already loaded.
|
File Extension Exclusions | Excludes the specified file extensions from encryption.

Hi Jithendran,
I have my Personal USB Device which has some files and folders in it(which are not encrypted), and i forgot to save them before encrypting it. After Encrypting the USB with Some Office Reports, I'm unable to access those previous saved files. I entered the Password but unable to access those past data. We are using Encryption with Offsite Access.
Is their any option to recover those Past content from that USB? I could see those files but unable to access in my Personal laptop as well.
Is their any Option to recover the files and remove the EERM.exe from my personal device?
Hi @Vinay555 ,
I think accidentally you have chosen to format the Thumb drive before encrypting the thumbdrive.
FRP prompts with two options, 1) to retain your data and to place it in the container 2) to erase everything and then to create an encrypted container.
If first option was chosen there is no McAfee tools to recover the data which has been formatted.
