We are running 2 servers - 1 primary and 1 secondary on the DMZ. We have been running these servers successfully for several years. All of the sudden when attempting to connect to the secondary server we are receiving "Error connecting to database [db000002]: The database has not been created or initialised yet."
No changes have been made. What would cause this to happen?
Try to connect locally on that server first. First with local database instance, then with remote database instance.
This should rule out potential firewall changes....
I can connect locally on that server. Connecting to that remote database instance gives me the same error message.
Is database service running locally or is it stopped (maybe due to error - check Windows event log).
I guess when you are connecting locally though you're using a local file connection, not the machines IP address?
If you're connecting via ip locally, then the problem is the network in between the two machines (assuming the remote machine has the correct IP etc).
then the error means either you can't get to that address, or the SBDBServer is not running on that address.
(or you trashed your local connection profiles and need to set them up again)
