Re: Error 0xe0050020 Unable to open client data store

Yeah it is...

But I just checked the laptop and it finally finished Authenticating...   So I did the emergency boot, now I will try to "Remove and Reboot" then clone the drive.

I suspect the drive may be going, but there was a power outtage last night and the laptop was ungraciously booted, so that may be the issue as well.

I will keep you posted, and once this is in the clear I will mark it as solved.

keep your fingers crossed...

I'll call this resolved, drive has been cloned and replaced.

Well it is not quite over...   I was able to clone the drive, but when I boot off the drive I get a 92h error.

This is after I removed Encryption and rebooted the system via remove and reboot.

Any Ideas?

You forgot to uninstall the client. "SBSetup.exe -uninstall".

So, do I boot with the SafeTech Disk and run that? Or is there a procedure I should follow?

92H means you left the boot code there, and then trashed the SBFS.

if you've reimaged the machine, you need to do fixmbr.

Should I use the SafeTech Disk to repair the MBR or the MS utilities?

To recap, I removed Encryption created an image of the drive via ghost, then swapped out the drive and imaged it onto the new drive.

it's a Windows issue, so just use the normal Windows fixmbr command.

FIXMBR - Bad...     Resulted in No Operating System Found.  The guy I am working with had kicked off the whole fixmbr process before I had a chance to try Peter's way.

I am reimaging the drive and will try Peter's way and see if it works.

Worst case, I will rebuild Laptop and move client's data back via Ghost Explorer.

With the image of the drive on a server I am can try different scenarios to see which one works best.

Was it Ghost imaged in disk or partition modes?
