This is my first post.
I never use Endpoint Encryption, so, for somebody it will a "simple" question.( maybe )
If i remove an encrypted hard drive, or a hard drive with an encrypted files or directory from my PC, NB
and connect with another PC or NB, how can i access (read, write) the encrypted data?
Should i wait while the data is decrypted and the i reach the data, or what? or on the another machine i have an authority (permission) to reach the data, i can simply do that?
It's a little bit urgent.
Thanks for the help.
If you move it to another PC and boot from it, it would be no different than it was in original PC.
But if you add it to PC as a second drive, files would be unaccessible and unreadable.
actually, using the WinTech tool you can slave an encrypted drive onto an unencrypted machine and "mount" it, so you can read the data off it. You can also boot of a WinPE CD/USB Stick and use WinTech to access the drive outside of the normal authentication environment using the same tool.
True, but I'm not sure if OP had this "sophistication" in mind.
Also, going in the same direction, it is also possible to decrypt drive using SafeTech tool and then read data in clear.
