Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

Also, there is no option for USB legacy in the BIOS.  The keyboard does not work at pre boot authentication.  Caps lock is also stuck at PBA (not sure if that means anything).

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

Are you observing this issue with only one laptop or a bunch of them? When you install the same install set to other models/laptops, do you see the same issue or not?

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

They aren't the exact same laptops, but they are all HP Pavilions with the same install set.

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

Hi,

Try disabling the option "Always enable pre-boot USB support" in the general settings of the machine in the End Point Encryption management centre together with the USB legacy settings in the Bios.

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

"Always enable pre-boot USB support", was already unchecked.  There is no setting in the BIOS for USB legacy settings.

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

Hi

Try booting from a dos-floppy and check if the keyboard works in that environment

Also try the option "EEPC51 OPTION: Update number of sides reported in the OS boot sector"

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

I suppose "update number of sides...." is valid for Dell systems only, but "Yes" - give a try!

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

That would require creation of a new install set with that option file-set added, wouldn't it?

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

I heard the "Update number of sides reported in the OS boot sector" only applies to the HP Compaq DC7100 models.

Does anyone know the official list of models that this option corrects? Is there a McAfee KB?

Re: Encryption on HP Pavilion laptops?

There is no "official" list or KB listing models that are affected. It is this forum only.
