I am getting this error. I can see the machine object in EEM, there is an IP present, but cannot complete a sync. Does anyone know how to fix this error?

Check to make sure you don't have any external drives plugged in. Or it's possible that an external drive was plugged in when EEPC was installed.

nothing else is connected, just an internal Cd/DVD

occuring on a client Dell Precision laption which we installed client 5.1.8 on today. Other same model mahines are working ok? This is a brand new machine just out of the box and built with our enterprise desktop XP image.
something is blocking the driver access to the disk. So, either work out what that is, or you could try updating to a current version of the client (5.2.x etc).
if you have other machines of this type working fine, simply work out what's different 😉
oh, and MAKE SURE there are no drives plugged in, USB, SD, PCMCIA etc - all those can cause this if their drivers are naughty.
could a dual monitor configuration on this machine cause this?
the drivers would have to be REALLY badly written, but it's Windows remember - anything's possible 😉
Got a USB stick plugged into the back of them by any chance?
