Stuck with attempt to install EEPC v. 5.2.4 on Lenovo S12 (Nvidia Ion platform). Tried Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 Enterprise with the same effect: after installation of the client the OS boots once, starts the client and the client begins encryption process. Starting from this moment, if I reboot or shut down the system, it hangs on boot, displaying blank black screen right after EEPC's startup messages. Tried the same operation on Lenovo's S10-2 netbook (intel platform) and all went quite fine.
I use simple configuration with autoboot user enabled.
Used the following configuration parameters:
reject suspend/hibernate requests
Allow AutoBoot user to be managed locally
Always enable pre-boot USB (tried to turn this parameter off, it didn't help)
Will be glad for any help with this problem. Thanks in advance.
It still could be USB control problem.
Please read the following and apply USB.INI fix in USB handling.
A BIOS exemption has been provided in Endpoint Encryption for PC 5.2.3, which is available from the McAfee download site using a valid grant number. For additional information contained in the Endpoint Encryption for PC 5.2.3 release notes, see PD22408.
NOTE: Specific details are provided in the release notes on Page 7, section 5230.1 Add ability to specify exclusions for USB BIOS hand back.
To add further exclusions, create a file called USB.INI and deploy it to the client with the File
Location set to "[SBFS]\Boot" (without quotes) in the file's advanced properties.

Many thanks!!!! The method described above had helped. The only remaining issue is that the system doesn't boot with any USB flash stick inserted, but that is not important for us.
PS With the fix applied it does not matter whether the SATA legacy mode is turned on or not.Message was edited by: serge_s on 6/21/10 7:47:44 AM CDT
