EEFF 3.2.5 and USB Floppy drives.

I'm having an issue with EEFF 3.2.5 where we are only using the EERM component and my users are not able to write to their usb floppy drives. The setting to make floppy drives read only is unchecked and the device instance id for their usb floppy drive is in the exempted id list. If I uncheck make unprotected files and folders read only they can write to the drives. I can't do this across the board since I still need to enforce encryption on usb thumb drives. Any ideas?
