I have a device group that lists a machine as being a member. When I open the device group no member is present. I need to delete the device group but cannot because EEM believes there is a member in it. How can I delete this invisible member or force the group deletion?
Ok, so I tried to run this from the SBADMCL and it tells me the license is invalid. Upon further investigation it looks like I don't have a license to run the scripting tool. Is there any other way to cleanup this group?Message was edited by: doktorbanner on 5/23/11 11:54:53 AM EDT
sorry no - no other way at all. It would be strange for you not to have a licence though, all purchases in the last 3 years or so have included it. Perhaps your EEM only has an evaluation licence installed, which has expired?
General question concerning this command. Would it hurt anything if I occasionally ran CleanupMachineGroup and the RestoreMachines command against all the groups, to keep the object directory clean?
it's good practice to do that, but you need to take your server offline before you do it to make sure there are no locked objects, so it's only something you should really do during scheduled down time.
