I had a user call me up and say that he is trying to install MEE on some Dell and HP Mini's
After successful encryption and the second reboot, the one where you first see the MEE Pre Boot login, he types in any username and password and is greeted with the following error:
"Unable to read Data Store object attribute"
Whats weird is that out of five HP Minis this morning, two worked fine and the other three all have this exact same problem. We have had similar issues with Dell Minis before too.
Anyone have any ideas? Certain filesets that need to be checked for these minis? Anything?
HP Mini 1101 is the model we are workign with this morning.
Can you please check and report what settings are present in BIOS for disk access (SATA mode?) and USB (emulation?).
Are you using any special machine properties, filesets during deployment or creation of installation set?
No special machine properties or file sets as of right now.
I am waiting to hear back from the guy who has the laptops for the BIOS settings.
I am wondering if there is some magical file set that i can check that will fix this issue .... crossing my fingers anyways =)
It's a known issue with the Dell Mini at least currently being investigated in engineering - seems to be a problem in the BIOS. But if you say some work then can you see what the difference is? BIOS version other settings?
