Chicken or the Egg?

I have an errant username floating around on my 5.1.8 system that I can't seem to find, delete or recreate.  User had machine re-imaged and when EEPC was reinstalled, the user was getting an "unkown username" error at login.  I did a search of the database, and could not find the user to readd to the machine object.  I tried to manually create the user, but received an error "User already exists."  I scanned for orphans, but found none.  How do I clean this up? I need to use a particular user name so that it matches the users enterprise employee ID, and until I clear this, I can't do it.

rebuild the name index - perhaps it got missed out through some misadventure?

Re: Chicken or the Egg?

What is the correct procedure for rebuilding the index, and is that something I should do after business hours?

Re: Chicken or the Egg?

you need to delete the names.xxx files in the sbdata/00000001 tree.

yes, it would be best to do it after hours, the db will go unresponsive while the cache rebuilds.
