I am using version 5.1.9 on most machines and have noticed recently more password problems due to the pre-boot keyboard language not being the same as Windows. When I have the user check their keyboard settings, they do not have the language they need as an option. I have checked the files for the user and see that we have selected both English and Italian (in this example) files.
I have reset the machine to the group configuration and synchronized again to see if it was missing anything, but it still only shows the English keyboard. Is there an ini file or some file on the machine that can be checked to see if it is getting the right files? Or is there a problem with using multiple language options on machines?
I would appreciate any assistance.
v5 can support multiple languages at once, and out of the box, the default ones are mergable, so they can coexist - there's nothing to stop your administrators though breaking this.
You can check on the client in the locale directory to see if you have both English and Italian files present (xxx9 and xx10), or you can press "apply" on the properties of the 0010 Graphics.ini file to get it redeployed to a client.
If you change or update the theme, you can break the languages with the 5.1 version.
OK. I understand your comment about checking the locale.ini file on the local machine, but where is the graphics.ini file that you reference?
If I want to "apply" it to multiple machines, how would I do that?

it's in each language file group in EEM - update it in the file group and it will get redeployed to every machine using that file group. Be warned though, in 5.1 this will result in the user settings being removed and the default language being set to the file you deployed.
OK. I have opened the file group for the Italian language and then opened the Locale.ini file and clicked on "Apply". If I understand you correctly, the next time the machines in Italy that are using that file group synchronize, it should update their local "Locale.ini" file and then have the Italian keyboard present in their Keyboard options.
My support contact in Italy will verify this for me tomorrow.

I'm not sure you did understand me - I said:

This means EVERY machine which has the Italian language set applied to it, will switch into Italian the next time it syncs, regardless of where it is or what setting the user currently has.
To assign setting to more than one machine, you apply group settings to machines.
Also, if you modify file set content, change will automatically be applied to any machine that is using that fileset. During synchronisation.
Can you post your "locale.ini" from EEPC Client folder? It has multiple settings that are responsible for keyboard mapping support in pre-boot environment.
It is is possible to have language option with multiple options available at pre-boot, but this needs proper user cooperation.
In most cases, for simplicity, it is the best to have only one language/keyboard mapping present. That one which matches computer specs on which EEPC is installed.
