Best practice enryption of "pool-pc/group pc"

Jump to solution

A sales office wishes to have a laptop that a handfull of persons needs to have access to. Now, how do i setup this the best way.

I figure, the more people how have access to a machine the less secure is it.

  • Add these people to the machine and let them have access with strong passwords - one option i found
  • create an account these people will have to use to logon with. We use Zenworks to setup the machines and this changes the GINA which disables the SSO. This means they will have to logon again in windows with their own accounts. - another option i found

Suggestions, how to do this is most welcome!

I suggest to use first option (strong non-expire password), plus use account for administration/emergency situations (tightly controlled, long-expire password). It is simple to manage, yet well controlled approach.
