RE: Server key

Did you compare content of both SDMCFG.INI files (one from your backup, another from a client)? Any common keys?

RE: Server key

Yes, and I tried using that key in the servers SDMCFG.INI with no luck.

RE: Server key

The server does not use the key from sdmcfg. It used the key in the db. I guess you deleted the server object you need? If so restore it from the bin

RE: Server key

Why would anyone delete server object in production system (that has many clients connected to)? I guess restoring from "System" tab and "Deleted Servers" group would be too easy... Must have been deleted permanently.

RE: Server key

best thing is to re-export everything to sdmcfg.ini with the "add to databases" command, compare them with the client key, and hopefully the right one is there somewhere.

Then, restart the server using that definition.

if not, you have two choices - refresh the sdmcfg.ini file on EVERY client with a working record, or restore the server from the bin/backup

RE: Server key

Thanks guys, the problem was the multiple entries, and old server versus new. the old server just needed to be renamed to the new one and the old entries cleaned out, then added to the database, then the clients started synching with the server with the correct key.
