I had a server issue where my SDMCFG.ini was corrupted. I restored the file from a backup I had, and am now getting the "Error connecting to database [5c020004]: Authentication signature is not valid" message. I show several databases with the same name and IP, but with different keys. Is there a way to figure out which key is correct in the SDMCFG.ini ?
Compare the keys between your client and server sdmcfg files. That will give you the description of the one you should start. Any doubt you should delete all the connections from the server side sdmcfg and re export them using "add to databases"
If I take the Key from the server and add it to the SDMCFG.INI on the client, then the client can authenticate. Why does it not work when I take the server key that all the clients have, and put it into the servers SDMCFG.INI? As we have a large number of clients, spread out physically I need to change the key on the server so that it will accept the clients..
