RE: corrupt content

You are posting in two-year old thread that is about an obsolete product. Please clarify what you have installed.

Please include the following information:

What is your operating system, service pack and are you up to date with Microsoft update?

What McAfee products do you have? If your taskbar icon is like this: - right-click it and go to each application "About" and post the details.
If it is like this: - double-click to open SecurityCenter and then click "View Details" or "About" at the lower right of the new window. Post the details from each module.

Have you checked with the source of the emails if they have been trying to send you doubtful material?

A screenshot would be helpful.

Corrupt Content

Hi,
I have an exchange server 2003 on a Windows 2003 Server(SP2 fully updated). This server also has installed McAffee Groupshield

The icon you mentioned looked like this:

I also uploaded some screenshots about the version of the AV:

Hope this helps to solve this...

for 6.x check the same area of settings and tweak your policies

RE: Corrupt Content

tonyb99: Please post the correct link.

We have the same problem - sometimes mails have this massage:
CORRUPT CONTENT ALERT
The content this replaces was found to be corrupt.
Cause of corruption: Invalid character set or encoding.
Ticket Number: '0a58-48d7-903c-0004'

We are using:
GSE 7.0.609.120 with Patch 1 and HotFix 404014
Exchange 2007 Enterprise with SP1 and HotFix-Rollup 3
Windows Server 2008 Standard with SP1
(all in ENGLISH)

Thanx for your help!

Regards
Michael

RE: Corrupt Content

A customer of ours with the same setup solved the issue with GSE7HF395628.zip, which is available from McAfee support only. So submit a service request and refer to this hotfix.

If you mention that the corrupt content occurs when an email message contains an embedded image, you should receive the hotfix right away.

Otherwise let me know, i know the link i just do not want to post it publicly happy

RE: Corrupt Content

@Medusoft: Thanx for this information - this was a bingo 🙂

After applying hotfix 395628 the problems with the corrupt content alert was gone away.

Why to the hell is there no such information to find on the McAfee knowledgebase?

Regards
Michael

RE: Corrupt Content

Hello, i have been trying to get this hotfix sent to me from Macafee support for the past 2 days with no luck if any of you are able to give me a direct link or able to send it to me that would be great as it is causing me problems.

Thanks
Martin
