MSMEODuser

Jump to solution

There is following sentence in MSME80ProductGiude: "Make sure that you do not remove the MSMEODuser from active directory, that was created during the product installation.".

This user is using for on-demand scan. I installed MSME using ePO. Should I create this user manually?

if you want to run ondemand scans then you will need to do the following:

open exchange shell

cd to the msme\bin\e2007 agents folder

type .\AddOdUserPerm.ps1

this will create the oduser in ad and set it up so msme can run od scans using that user.

Thank You. I run it and the user was created.

But there were 2 errors during running this script. Should I create SR on support website?

Re: MSMEODuser

you can manually create it or use any ad user account in place of the one msme creates and it will be supported.

Re: MSMEODuser

Thank You for your answer. It is very helpful for me. Is it required to use user called MSMEODuser? If no, where should I configure it? Only in registry (like in KB76046)?

Re: MSMEODuser

Well if you run that it will create the default user at the E2007 specified in the article.

You can replace the MSMEODuer details at the key (usermailbox smtp address and Password) with user mailbox detail you have created.

(Password detail will disappear when ODS run)

That "custom" user would need to have equivalent righs to MSMEODuser - or you could make it member of the Hygiene Management Group.
