Infosec scanning of PST files being brought into environment...

We recently aquired a company and we want to insure that they data that we bring in from this new company as been scanned for threats.  Our biggest concerns surround bringing in PST files.

Is there a way that we can scan whole PST files with VSE 8.8 or MSME 8.0 before we allow the users to access them?

Thanks!

From MSME no - if the psts remain on the client machines (or server based user profile folders) and data is not imported to store(s) then no.

From VSE I don't think you can scan like the pst file as a flat file on disk - but  - if e-mailscanning component installed - https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB50664

Thank you Aidan.

The approach we decided to take is to isolate an exchange server with MSME installed, and then import the PSTs onto that server and scan them there.

Thanks!
