Having issues setting up MSMEODUser

I have to run an ondemand scan via EPO\MSME 8.5.

I have the MSMEOduser scanning mailboxes but reports that it scanned 0 items.

I tried recreating the user and get an error:

MSMEODUser found.  Now going through validation process for user

Checking MailBox Server <EXCHANGE> for ODUserID

        ODUserID Found, checking passwd value

Authenticating user MSMEODUser@<DOMAIN>.com... Value returned False.

User didn't validate to AD properly.

Setting new password.

Exception calling "Invoke" with "2" argument(s): "The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check th

e minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800708C5)"

At C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\MSME\bin\E2007 Agents\AddODUserPerm.ps1:104 char:21

Role data exits, moving on.

Verifying/adding ODuser name and password to e2007 registry key & LSA secret.

Did this McAfee KnowledgeBase - On-Demand User functionality and management with MSME 8.5

This was the important part for me and made the changes in EPO.

User credentials/password management:

  • The On-Demand User password can be stored/reset from the MSME Graphical User Interface (GUI) under Settings & Diagnostics, On-Demand Settings.
  • If the password is already reset in Active Directory, deselect the Reset the password in LDAP also option.
  • Resetting the password in any Mailbox server will update the password for all instances of MSME within all Mailbox servers of the domain forest.
