Email Notifications Not Working From MSME

I have vaious policies setup in MSME for Password-protected files, Protected Content, Encrypted Content etc. All of which are set to log and notify.

Now, I have sent test emails through with password protected files and these are picked up by MSME and logged.

But no emails to the admin, and no errors as far as I can see.

Anyone out there got any ideas?

Found it - Logs show looking at Port 25 only and not Pickupdir

Access registry

HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\McAfee\MSME\E2007

Create New DWORD

Name :     SendUsing

Value:      1

Restart MSMS service - run same test.

Hello,

check the policy "E-Mail Notifications" within the ePolicy Orchestrator. There you can define which security Option should generate E-Mails and to whom it has to send. Furthermore there is within the ePO Menü "Server Settings" an Option which should sound like "Event filtering" (in german it is "Ereignisfilterung"). There you can select which EventID`s should be transfered to ePO (regardless of the products). Only EventID`s which are selected in this Option will find their ways to the ePO Database and therefore can send E-Mail Messages.

EventID`s which are not Chosen will not be transferred/will be dropped.

Hi. Thank you, I didn't know that Event Filtering setting was there. Unfortunately all the MSME event are already enabled and my E-mail notifications are enabled for all.

Do you have any other thoughts?

due to my lack of english I can only show you how it is configrued in our Environment and tell you that this is working for us.

You recive other E-Mails from ePolicy Orchestrator which are not of the product MSME? Just want to be sure your E-Mail envirnoment is configured properly.

€: the blackened parts are not to be shwon in puplic but are E-Mailadresses or names of policys which are not to be intened openly published.

In MSME on the exchange server when a notification is generated it is dealt with depending on Exchange Role and version

From your previous post on the extension details - I think you mean MSME 8 (not sure Patch and Hf) and E2010  (not sure sp level) 

E2010 - MB only Role - notification attempt will be to the available Hubs(s) connectors on port 25.

E2010 -  MB/Hub or Hub Role or Edge Role    - attempt will be to use connectors and/or the Transport Role Pickup folder (it will try both)

Details on what it can use is in HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\McAfee\MSME\E2007 key - look at HubTxAddress and <IPAddress>_Pickup keys

What roles are you running??

Are these keys populated and is the information in them correct for your current environment??

Hi,

I'm running MSME 8.5 Patch 1, Exchange 2016 and those keys are populated and correct.

Would need to see debug logs - is there a case already open for this with logs supplied??

I have opened a call.

Although going through the normal frustrations of being asked to try everything I have already tried, even though I have stated in my initial call exactly what I have done to try to fix it so far and uploaded the logs. Wish support would read the call notes properly in the first place and respond accordingly rather than going with their 'script'.
