We have an additional email applicance that handles our email encryption. We have a rule set in our Outbound Policy that states if an email matches a certain criteria, reroute the mail to this host. We are needing to upgrade these encryption devices and I was curious what will happen to the messages that are not able to be rerouted during the down time? Will the MEG treat them as normal SMTP messages and attempt to continue to deliver them until the standard time out period has expired? We are running MEG 7.5.
MEG shoud treat the messages that need re-routing as normal SMTP mail, and queue them as necessary until the encryption server is available again. Note that the mail will be bounced if the NDR time limit is reached.
