McAfee Endpoint Security

Next-Generation Endpoint Security

Endpoint Security 10.5 is the newest security solution for endpoints; providing comprehensive next-generation security protection, simplified installation, and vastly improved performance over legacy security products. Endpoint Security optimizes, consolidates, and improves on protections formerly offered by VirusScan Enterprise, Host IPS, and Site Advisor web filtering, resulting in an integrated, efficient new platform.

Endpoint Security 10.5 facilitates layered and connected endpoint protection, providing comprehensive intelligent defense against both known and unknown threats. The Endpoint Security framework is the foundation for McAfee's next-generation endpoint security solution, integrating with McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) to offer a comprehensive, single-pane-of-view, enterprise security solution.

Integrated Security

Key benefit: Reduced overhead of deploying and maintaining multiple products

McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 is an integrated, endpoint platform consisting of consolidated security modules:

  • Threat Prevention
  • Firewall
  • Web Control
  • Adaptive Threat Protection                    NEW in Endpoint Security 10.5!

All modules integrate into a single McAfee Endpoint Security interface, with flexibility to choose which security modules deploy on endpoint systems. Security modules work independently to provide comprehensive security layers, while leveraging common components and providing single-point management of endpoint security.

Client packages

The client deployment package for each module is separate. Whether McAfee ePO software or a third-party tool is used to deploy the client package, the client package to deploy on the endpoints can be selected using the installer that is shared by all modules for a consistent installation experience.

Policy Configurations

Endpoint Security policy configuration can be managed centrally using McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (on-prem), McAfee ePO Cloud, or Self-Managed locally through the local user interface. McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator management extensions Endpoint Security are easy to obtain through ePO Software Manager, or from McAfee Downloads.

The following ePO management extensions are currently available for the Endpoint Security 10.5 release:

  • Endpoint Security Threat Prevention
  • Endpoint Security Firewall
  • Endpoint Security Web Control
  • Endpoint Security Adaptive Threat Protection

Integrated ePO dashboards

McAfee ePO includes integrated dashboard views for all McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 modules. For example, the "McAfee Endpoint Security: Installation Status" dashboard provides a view of all McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 modules that are installed on the endpoint systems.
