Intel Security SNS ProTip for HIPS: How to verify what Host IPS Policies are Running Locally on a Client

McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 8.0 provides the assigned client policy name in the Windows registry to verify which Host IPS policies are assigned to a client. This information is useful to verify if you have the right Host IPS policies assigned to the system, or to troubleshoot policy enforcement issues (e.g., if recent policy changes you made don’t seem to correct the issue). Renaming the policy name (e.g. use a revision number or date/timestamp in the policy name) is an easy way to tell if the policy has been enforced properly.

See KB85328 ( for more details.
