I am very pleased to announce that McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PC 6.1 Patch 2 has entered into Phase 1 (a.k.a. “Block 1”) of the FIPS 140-2 validation process. McAfee Endpoint Encryption Disk Driver Cryptographic Module 1.0 and McAfee Endpoint Encryption Client Cryptographic Module 1.0 (the crypto modules under test for EEPC 6.1 Patch 2) have been officially listed as “Implementation Under Test (IUT)” on the NIST website (http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140InProcess.pdf). We are expecting to complete these validations in Q2 2012. This major milestone demonstrates McAfee’s commitment to providing customers with world-class products that have been carefully evaluated for safety, security, and reliability.
