monitor file transfering over LAN

Jump to solution

Hi guys

please help me out through this senario:

I want to protect all files on my fileserver, assume \\fileserver, for a group of users.

what I did:

made a "User Assignment Groups".

made a network address range (fileserver)

made network port (135-139,445 TCP,UDP)

made a "network communication protection rule" for that group incoimg and outgoing connection.

but it didn't work.why?DLP agent must be on clients or server?

thanks a lot.It really did what I wanted.By the way, can you tell me what is "network communication protection rule" for? In which situation should we use it?

You would use Network Communication Protection (NCP) rule to monitor inbound and outbound traffic for applications except:

1. File transfers to Network shares (because that is handled by File System Protection rule).

2. Where overlapping rules like Email Protection, Web Post Protection etc. may be used.

No. You would want to open a PER (Product Enhancement Request). How to submit a PER:
