fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

After Windows security patching, several of our systems receive the following error when launching the Chrome web browser.

"C:\Program Files\McAfee\DLP\Agent\fcagchrome64.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000428."

We have workarounds to temporarily resolve the issue but it continues to occur on several systems (hundreds). Anybody else seeing this in their environment?

Re: fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

Thanks for the reply, but what do you mean by that? Where would one increase the image size related to the fcagchrome64.dll?

Can you elaborate on the "increase the size of image"?

Re: fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

Hello Jde,

Thank you for the environment details.

Please disable google chrome plugin options from Windows client configuration policy on a single machine and let me know if you are able to launch google chrome.

Note: Disabling Google chrome plugins will stop DLP from monitoring/blocking of data uploaded/sent through google chrome.

Also please let us know what data protection rules are configured?

Re: fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

I have seen this after MS Windows 10 patching is completed on a workstation and this may occur with DLP versions 11.0, 11.3 and 11.4. I normally need to install DLP again and the issue is resolved, but this occurs on hundreds of workstations so it is not practicle to just keep reinstalling DLP in the environment.

Re: fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

Hi @Jde ,

Kindly upgrade to DLP 11.3 as McAfee has brought back the DLP Chrome Supportability in DLP 11.3 and above.

DLP 11.0.600 already had an existing issue for IE where IE freezes and causes system performance issues.

Thank you.

Re: fcagchrome64.dll - Bad image

We have seen this issue recur with DLP 11.4.0.452. Doesn't seem to matter which version of the software is installed. Also, we saw this occur with 11.0.600 even with the Chrome plugin disabled.
