encrypt any usb device that is connected

Jump to solution

Hi,

i am looking to see what options are available to allow any usb device.

is there a way to encrypt the device and allow the user to set a password.

i am looking for more than just encrypting the data stored on it.  if possible, set password to unlock and decrypt device?

Thanks.

@McADOC1 Thank you for choosing McAfee Support Community.

If my understanding is correct you want to allow user to pluggin USB however when a USB is plugged in any data stored on it should be encrypted and access to the data should be protected with password defined by user.

If this is your question this requirement is possible with McAfee File and Removable Media if you use FRP in your environment in which we have a feature called "Enforce Encryption (Offsite Access)" under Removable Media Policy .

Below is the reference video on how to configure the same

FRP Supported Platform : https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB81149

I would request you to revert with more details if the issue is any different from my understanding.
