Using USB encryption with DLP

Jump to solution
Hello Team, We have McAfee host DLP. Our requirement is to allow only encrypted USB in our organization & same encrypted should be able to accessed by our external vendors. We are aware that there is option in DLP to allow FRP encrypted USB inside organization or on managed systems, but how can we allow our external vendors to access the encrypted USB. Please advice.

Hello and thank you for posting here!

Your question is more FRP related than DLP, however I work with both products so I can help!

In your FRP Removable Media policy, there is an option for "offsite encryption". Which is option enabled, the end user will be prompted to provide a password when initializing a USB. FRP then creates an encrypted container on the drive. This allows for access to an encrypted USB drive off network and does not require FRP to be installed a system for the drive to be accessible. All that is required is for the third party to know the password.
