I sent you an email with a link to DLP 3.0 HF20. After you have had a chance to test the patch on a couple of clients please update the case owner with the results so he can either close the case or move on to the next steps.
What versions of DLP and HIPS are you using? Grab the build numbers from an affected client.
What email client are you using?
Does the problem go away if you disable the Outlook Handler or the lotus Notes Handler for DLP (depending on your email client)?
DLP version 18.104.22.1688
HIPS version 22.214.171.1241
Microsoft Outlook 2007 with SP2
What do you refer when you say email handler? you mean in the DLP policy config?
Correct. Here are some instructions for you:
Disabling the Outlook Handler has the side-effect of breaking all email protection rules for outlook. If you are not using any email protection rules then this is a fix. If you are using email protection rules then this will at least identify DLP and specifically the handler as the culprit.
Well if you are not using any email protection rules I would simply leave the Outlook Handler disabled.
So I did some research and discovered this is a known issue. If you do wish to use email protection rules then this issue should be resolved in DLP 3.0 patch 1 which has not gone RTW. We do have DLP 3.0 HF20 (base build for DLP 3.0 patch 1) which is RTS (released to support) so you would have to call into support and open up a case to get it.
If/When you open a case please reference BZ:508667 as it will asist the tech in identifying the issue.
Jeremy, Ill check this with support tomorrow to see if i can get the update, Im using DLP Mail protection rules, so Im gonna need this patch ASAP.
Ill reply this post tomorrow.
please let us know what you find after installing the patch and whether it makes a difference.
