Can NDLP prevent integrate with Exchange 2010 directly without the aid of a third party mail appliance ( like ironmail or EWS etc) ? If so, is there instruction available somewhere on how to configure the Exchange MTA?
I have heard that Exchange cannot read or take action on X-headers.
i never test this integration without a MTA, but i think we can do with exchange hub server acls.
look this technet article.
i will setup a lab here next week and try to do this integration.
good look 😉
Ok thanks, I have a customer that is trying to do the same and I can't find any info on it at all- more importantly McAfee doesn't seem to 'support' it without an external MTA but they may not be knowledgable in Microsoft Exchange engineering
hi brother, sorry about my late...
well im check but not testing yet (very busy this 2 last weeks). it possible to do with exchange rules, and it is possible to do with antispam inside exchange.
i think it is not so much complicated.
im not doing my lab yet, maybe in 10 days, im travelling a lot.
It is somewhat described here for EWS.
The Prevent just takes what comes in, check it, add a header (ALLOW, BLOCK, QUART...) and send it back.
The real action remains on the MTA or proxy, it should handle routing of checked and unchecked messages, parse the headers and implement the action. And this all is vendor specific.
