Network DLP 9.2 Prevent cannot process both SMTP and ICAP simultaneously

Jump to solution

Hi All, i read KB76303 that tell NDLP 9.2 Prevent can not process both SMTP and ICAP traffic simultaneously on the same appliance. So is this just for only 9.2 version or 9.3? And if customer want to protect both SMTP and ICAP that must buy 2 NDLP appliance?

Thanks,

Smalldog

They did some change in v9.2 and yes, you will need 2 appliances due to that.

That apparently will be the norm for the near future.

It will accept traffic on both protocols, but the question is for how long.  At some random point all traffic will stop flowing until at least the stingray service, maybe the whole system, is restarted.

I personally would have filed this as a bug, but as they are going the route of only taking one protocol at a time they should have made that fact very clear in the documentation and user interface.  Especially since 9.3 has come out quite some time after the issue was reported.
