I have epo server 4.0 with dlp 3.0. i have setup different protection rules on microsoft office application and its working fine.
In my organization some users have installed openoffice in their machines and i want to apply protection rules on that, for that i add OpenOffice application in Enterprise Application list and create Application Definition for the same. After that i have create tagging rules & protection rules but their is no effect of protection rules at client side.
Is McAfee support OpenOffice ?
Kindly suggest me if i miss some steps or perform wrong steps.
Thanks in advance.
I have create clipboard & screen capture protection rule for testing but it's not working.
I am not able to apply any type of protection rule for openOffice.
You'll need to define the OpenOffice app in the app definition with the executible file name as either soffice.bin OR soffice.exe
Next, from the OpenOffice tools option, under the Load/Save options, select general and change the "Always save as option" right bottom corner] Swriter 3.0 for document .odt files and SCal 3.0 for spreadsheet .ods files.
This worked out perfectly for me, let me know its reaction at your side.
DLP Supports Open Office, you could try controlling the "Title" with "Open Office" string or similar depending on the Open Office Application you want to control. You could also try with other controls.
