Need clarification regarding the classification keywords in DLP.

Jump to solution
Hi All, I need a clarification regarding the classification keywords in DLP. We have an option to select "Start with" or "End with" for every Phrase. However, I would like to know if the specified keyword is present in middle of the word, will it still detect. Thanks in advance.

Hello and thank you for posting here!

Using the "starts with" and "ends with" options individually allows for sub-string matching. For example, if you have the word "cat" in your dictionary definition with "ends with" selected, then the word "duplicate" would likely trigger an incident. The link below to the DLP Interface guide has some brief details on the "starts with" and "ends with" options. Selecting both matches an entire phrase.

Hi @Corey-DLP

Thanks for your response. I have tested the functionality with a phrase "Volunteer" and selected both "start with" and "end with" options.  The test results are as below.

sVolunteers - Not detected

Volunteers - Not detected

sVolunteer - Not detected

Volunteer - Detected.

As per your clarification, it should detect all the phrases but it didn't. Please clarify the same.
