Mcafee dlp false alert

Jump to solution

Currently the DLP is generating many false alerts for a department. The classification criteria used matches every file/content and generates alerts if the content matches with the classification criteria. There may be cases where the content/files matching the classification criteria may needs to be considered as exception and not generate alerts. How to add such files to exception?

There are different options to reduce the false positives.

1. Edit the definitions which are creted and optimze it.
2. You can create a classification which contins the whitelisted definitions and then add it into exception section of the policy.
3. You can optimize the regular expressions.
4. You can use the "Algorithms" to optimze the regular expressions used in the definitions.

DLP Bypass password

Jump to solution

The issue summary is that you want to bypass the USB DLP block using password instead of using DLP helpdesk..

We have discussed that a password prompt which can bypass the USB block DLP option is not available as of now.
