I have configured the evidence folder with the permissions exactly as mentioned in the install guide. However when I try to open an evidence file by clicking it via the DLP Monitor it throws back the error message " Evidence is not available " and the Administrative Event reads "The system cannot find the file specified., Error Code : 2" however when I see content in the evidence folder of the HDLP client.
Tried adding "Domain Users" group along with "Domain Computers" with the relevant permissions but no luck.
Any clues or inputs ? Thanks in advance.
Try setting the shares to "allow everyone" and see if you can access! If yes - then it's something to do with the permissions for those shared folders.

Edit: to me works with UNC path \\serverIP\evidence and Everybody has full access to the folder (read/write) - the folder isn't shared with name evidence$, it's shared with name evidence
Edit 2: re-tried with the installation guide steps, made the permissions exactly as the guide says but it doesn't work
Edit 3: with evidence$ on dlp monitor there's error code: 5 in the replication problems section - evidence folder can't be written

Sometimes the DLP agent Password mismatch and mostly it could be happen when we upgrade DLP version. I don't remember exactly the SQL Database table which contains all DLP agent password. If you delete the all password tables and set new agents password it will work fine.
