Installing DLP so no forced reboot of the workstation.

Hi all,

I have been looking to deploy DLP to workstations. However, I am aware that it requires a work station to reboot after this is done.

I am aware you can stop the message from coming up on the workstation asking the user to reboot and you can postpone for x number of minutes.

These option do not really solve my problem though.

The questions is this; is there a way of installing DLP on a workstation through ePO deployment without forcing a restart. In this case every machine is turned off over night so that would be the restart that is required. Is this possible?

thanks

Re: Installing DLP so no forced reboot of the workstation.

Hello dixonre,

Please have a look at KB76431 in the McAfee Knowledgebase. This tells you how to configure the McAfee Agent to suppress reboots amongst other useful tips.

This method does not show any postpone messages.

many thanks

Re: Installing DLP so no forced reboot of the workstation.

Hello All, I'm also having this same issue. When installing HDLP 9.3.

Prompt user when a reboot is required is not checked. But, I still get asked to restart y/n.

The referenced KB article didn't help any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.
