How to change or disable DPL release code in Mcafee EPO Security Center.

Jump to solution

Hi Team,

I am using the below Mcafee version

EPO Build: ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 (Build 2428)
Update Installed: Update 6 (2.0.0.831)
Server: Updates

when I am trying to uninstall the DPL package from the client system it asks me to give me the password I don't know what is the code but I have the superuser access.

Please guide how can I change or disable the release code inside Mcafee EPO DLP settings.

An image is also attached for your reference.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @32 ,

Yes, if you are opting to perform manual uninstall from the client machine directly you need to do this.

Or you can create Client task for DLP product removal from EPO Client Task Catalog and then assign it to the machines in which you want to remove DLP from. The client task will automatically remove the product and you do not need to mention any codes for uninstall when client task from EPO is used.

This is to prevent users from uninstalling DLP on their own.

Thank you

Hi @32 ,

Thank you for writing in here.

You would need to navigate to EPO Menu -> DLP Help Desk and then need to generate the release code for DLP uninstall using the code seen in the client machine and the DLP policy name and the revision id should be entered as well.

Thank you, jsubbura, for your reply.

Should I need to do this every time when I need to uninstall the DLP package from the client-side?
