McAfee Host Data Loss Prevention version 9.1 cannot be installed in ePolicy Orchestrator 4.6 because the
event parser is not compatible and events do not appear in the Host DLP Monitor. This issue will be resolved
in Patch 1, which is planned to be released by the time ePolicy Orchestrator 4.6 is officially released.
Do you now when the patch 1 will be released
ePO 4.6 is officially out now and it doesn't mention this limitation anywhere in the release notes or the install guide. So now I've got to work out how to uninstall ePO 4.6 and go back to ePO 4.5.
Very poor... that's what release notes are for!
Under my product downloads if I go into HDLP 9.0 I see McAfee Host Data Loss Prevention v9.0 Patch1 released Sep 21 2010. File name: McAfeeHDLP90Patch1Licensed.zip.
This was released before 9.1 so I am asuming 9.1 includes the functionality of 9.0 patch 1 and possibly some aditional features.
I believe it's 9.1 patch 1 that we need (not 9.0 patch 1), which doesn't appear to exist. I downloaded ePO via our DLP 9.1 grant and after reading through all the documentation there was no mention of this requirement. I only found that 9.1 patch 1 was required after searching for the error I'm now receiving and discovered this thread.
I don't know why I upgraded to be honest, not a single McAfee upgrade has gone smoothly on any of our McAfee products.
The only reason we were told by McAfee to hold off on 4.6 was because we are running EEPC v6 which is not compatible yet.
I think HDLP 9.1 is supposed to be compatible. I would call McAfee to confirm before going through the hassle of backing down a version. They should be able to answer your compatibility question pretty quick.
