HDLP Delete file feature/Forensic cleansing

Jump to solution

Hi,

We have a requirement to delete the files detected during a File System Discovery scan in HDLP 9.3? Currently, the delete action is not present in the file system discovery scan rule creation in the DLP Policy section in EPO 5.0, however there is a reference to the delete action in the Agent Configuration (Discovery Settings) window as shown in the screenshot below:

DLP_FSD_Delete.PNG

Can someone please help me out how to associate this policy definition to a content protection rule ?

Is there a way to integrate something like McAfee shredder for forensic cleansing into EPO/ DLP endpoint (much like Endpoint Encryption for Files & Folders) ?

You need to enable the delete option under Tools->Options before it can be used in the Discovery Rule.

Do not enable this feature until all stakeholders are fully aware of the repurcussions and agree to this. If you are already seeing false positives, do not use the Delete option.
