How can I do a rule to block files (Inbound) from certain extensions ?
@Diego1010 Thanks for choosing Support Community.
Use True file type option available within the classification.
Login to ePO -> Menu -> Data protection -> Classification -> Actions -> New classification -> Type a name.
Select the named classification -> Actions -> New Content Classification Criteria -> Click true File Type under File Condition.
Use this classification in the appropriate rule.
Can you advice a document or video about File extension block. I want to monitor our shared files on the server.
This is a matter for many McAfee customers.
Hi @Diego1010 @HsynErt ,
Thank you for writing in here.
As per your request, I have made up a video and posted the same to my YouTube channel.
Video Shows the below steps:
1) we will see how to block or monitor file transfer based on the file extensions.
2) you will also see on how to create a policy for DLP and DLP windows client configuration policy from scratch
3) And also on how to assign rule-sets to policy and on how to create rules inside a rule-set and on how to apply the policy changes.
