Detect Discovery Servers Task

Jump to solution

In ePO there is a server task for DLP called "Detect Discovery Servers" that runs every 10 mins, it looks like it's a default task for DLP. Is there any reason this needs to be enabled, and if so, does it need to run that often? the description says "Detects newly installed discovery servers and enabled them to run discovery scans". We have 2 discovery servers out there which are active, but need clarification on this task as I'm going through client and server task cleanup at the moment.

Jmac24,

If you do not plan on adding any more Discover servers to your environment, the task does not need to be enabled.

However, if you were to add a Discover server, you can enable and run the server task to easily update the Discover Server list.

Thanks
