DLP endpoint status 12

Hello, I wanted to consult for the description of the dlp endpoint state this appears as "12" since after the update to 11.5 some machines have this state and I do not find information about it.

I appreciate your collaboration

Hello and thank you for posting here!

A common status 12 issue that has been resolved in DLP 11.6 involves print jobs. Does this issue occur when an end user prints? If so, does it occur if you disable the printer protection module in the Windows Client Configuration policy? If the issue does not involve printing, is there a specific action which triggers the status 12 error? Also, what version did you upgrade from to 11.5?

DLP endpoint status 12 is a status message that is returned when DLP text extractor (fcagte.exe) process cannot commnicate with DLP Agent (Fcag.exe) process. Check in task manager if you can see fcagte.exe as running process, you can check the DLP Agent logs after enabling debug logging from windows client configuration policy if there are any connectivty errors between fcag.exe.

 

Enabling Debug logging:

1. Enable DLP Logging for all Events.
NOTE: For full information on DLP Debug logging, see KB77803.
 
a. Log on to the ePO console.
b. Click Policy Catalog. > Select DLP
c. Edit the Windows Client Configuration.
d. Click Debugging and Logging.
e. Select Save log messages to file.
f. Select Log Level: Log All messages (For Debugging).

 

Log to check for error- search for @text extractor@@

C:\ProgramData\McAfee\DLP\Temp\Logs\Session#1\HDLP_Agent_(XX.XX.XXXX)(XX-XX-XX).log

 

One similar issue is fixed in DLP 11.4.212. and also fixed in DLP 11.6.
