DLP Help Desk - Extraneous / Deprecated policies in drop down

We are on ePO 5.10 upd 9 in an on-premise envirionment.

The DLP Help Desk section shows a large number of deprecated policy names in the drop down menu under

DLP Help Desk /  Client bypass password / Get password from policy. Also, it seems, when we rename a policy, the old name remains in this while the new name is added as a new entry.

Any idea how we can clear the deprecated entries from this list?

Thank you

Re: DLP Help Desk - Extraneous / Deprecated policies in drop down

Hi FA1,

Thank you for your question.

This can happen when you have restored from a DLP backup, then remove DLP extensions, and apply a new extension.

Possible solution: restore DLP from backup file to get all the policies back on the system.

Re: DLP Help Desk - Extraneous / Deprecated policies in drop down

The procedure you outline is Correct?

However, just to be clear. We are not missing any entires in this menu. There are too many. The list contains a mixture of deprecated and new entries.

Please note that we have ever had to restore DLP from a backup. Not in the last two years at least. Woudl the indicated procedure still be the correct one for this scenario? Also, couild you confirm that it would involve the below steps.

  1. Create a fresh backup of DLP in DLP Settings / Backup & Restore
  2. Restore that same backup also from DLP Settings / Backup & Restore

Does this operation affect rule sets and their assignments to policy and system groups in any way?

Thank you!
