DLP || Chrome || Web Protection data upload cannot been block

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I have setup a Web Protection policy with data

But, when I using Chrome or edge, data upload cannot been block anymore (File upload and clipboard can be blocked), which is monitor only

When I change to edge, data upload can be blocked

It this expected behaviors? As I remember, data upload can be block at previous chrome version

Hello,

The given solution is not entirely correct. What will happen if the customer does not want to invest in DLP Monitors and DLP Prewent. The only thing left for him is such information that files with data relevant to the company were published on the Internet by a website using the Chrome browser. Chrom and Edge can be blocked in your organization but this is also not a solution because web applications are specially written for these browsers. At the moment it is very unfavorable. DLP was supposed to be a GDPR support solution and be a watchdog. At the moment this is not the case.

Pawel

In the context of the GDPR, this is a very big problem. The worst part is that it concerns the most used browsers such as Chrome, MS Edge and Firefox (for Windows).
I wonder if McAfee HDLP will one day solve this problem
due to vulnerabilities and new functionalities, customers update their browsers and HDLP. I can't forbid them to do so
