DLP 9.4.2 Exclusions for Local Admin

Jump to solution

I recently upgraded our network environment to McAfeee DLP 9.4.2 and successfully migrated my policies from the 9.3 version.  I have created a rule to make all CD/DVD Drives read only and it is working just fine.  I also have a rule to Block All USB access, with a few limited exceptions. I would like for one of those exceptions to be any local user, so that our support team will have access to the USB ports on any machine with the restricted local administrator account.  Each time I add this exception I get the below error message and I am unable to apply the policy until I remove this exception.  Can anyone explain why I am getting this error and if there is a way to bypass it?

That is referring to your backwards compatibility settings for your policy.  You can find the setting in Menu > Server settings > Data Loss Prevention.

Thanks for the answer, that resolved the issue I was having.  I was looking for where that setting had been moved to, well now I know.  Thanks again!
