I am testing the DLP 9.0 software currently and also we are looking at rolling out Windows 7 64 bit in the near future but have just found out the DLP agent is not 64 bit compatible.
Is there going to be a 64 bit version of the software released (or is there already)?
Thats pretty poor, we've paid a lot of money for the product and are (probably like a lot of companies) looking to roll Windows 7 x64 over the coming 6-12 months, especially with SP1 due for it this summer.
Can anybody from McAfee support confirm when this will be available in a 64 bit compatible version..... maybe when DLP 9.0 Patch 1 is released?? (or is that me being too wishful!! )
The problem is that not all the API's we use to hook into the applications etc are available under a 64 bit OS, so we are stifled as to when we can actually deliver functions. It's in the roadmap though and we're as upset as everyone else. I mean, why would you install W7 32bit ?
We were looking for the same support for Windows 7 64-bit and found that Symantec DLP already supports this for the endpoint and has a better detection engine across network and storage too.
I would take a look at their software.
The 64bit I was referring to was that the DLP Agent from Symantec could run on a Windows 7 64bit OS. As far as the endpoint server side goes I do not know if/when it will be running on a 64bit OS.
I would also want to know if there is any "official" time frame for DLP end point agent to support 64-bit OS. We are about to upgrade aprox 20K clients to 64-bit OS in the near future.
