DLP 11.4 scanning and acting on D Drive that it is blocking

We use DLP 11.4 and I have a machine that showed DLP blocking an external device under policy but then goes on to Clean multiple files on a D Drive that it said was blocked.

Can you confirm that On-Access Scanning will still act on malware it finds on an external drive even though DLP has/should block it?

Or is there something I need to check in a policy / or is there something wrong with this machine's client?

Thanks

It sounds like a piece of the device is not blocked then. Does the device get read as multiple devices (Mass storage and Windows Portable)?

Re: DLP 11.4 scanning and acting on D Drive that it is blocking

Hi @idsanalysts ,

If DLP blocks the Device then the ENS or VSE On Access Scanner will not be able to scan the device.

If the Device is not blocked by DLP then the OAS will be able to scan the device.

However, as @tucker84  mentioned, for a successful block of a device you may need to make all the required rules for Device Control are configured properly so that an external device with storage medium can be blocked by DLP.

Thank you.
