Hello! I was looking at the networks section of the McAfee firewall and saw an automatically added as trusted item that i did not enter. The IP address is fe80::/10 type-trusted. Does anyone know what this is ? Should I keep it or remove it? Thank YouMessage was edited by: fasttrack80 on 1/29/10 2:25:51 PM CST
I have this also plus another i.p i did``nt add.I am thinking it has to do with Mcafee, because i did`nt put it there either.Hopefully 1 of the other people will know.
Sorry fasttrack 80 I don`t know the answer.Sometimes when you post questions they go unanwered.I have quite a few questions that have not been answered. That could be for a variety of reasons.1.There are not enough people to answer all the questions,as most donate their own time.
2.Maybe they just get missed.
3.most people don`t know the answer
4.could be considerd a dumb question(which i don`t believe to be the situation)or i hope not.lol
as some of us come here because we are not computer savvy
It has something to do with the upcoming IPV6 network protocol and your ISP may have more information than I on that.
Other than that you could contact Technical Support Chat and ask them what it is.
I've noticed it come and go in my network settings too and am not sure if it's my router's fault or what, but all I know is that it appears not to be harmful.
Thanks Ex-brit ,Yes i have even deleted them at 1 point and they have reappeared peter.I thought it was installed by Mcafee so i have since left them.Since there are other people with this same thing i imagine it is o.k.Although i have a trusted i.p between 2 certain numbers i was`nt sure about. If anyone else has this or knows the answer can you reply.(trusted i.p adressess) Thanks
