why in technical support doesn't the dreaded reappearing desktop icon problem even appear? it seems like everyone acknowledes this little added feature but tech support where you would think they know. I bet they know but how about telling those not tech savy that they are not losing their minds.

there is the old version that was fixed
This will not help the current issue so are you saying they should update teh FAQs with current issues so users can see what is current?

There have been numerous posts by McAfee management in other threads on this issue which was caused by a fix for another unrelated problem producing this unwanted and initially unnoticed side effect - it is being looked at urgently but it takes time and the holidays intervened since it came to light, they don't want to break something else in the process, so it'll be fixed soon we hope.
