help

Today i have installed the mcafee antivirus 2012. But during activation of the product, it failed and message appear that you could not activate your products because of the some technical reason and secondly during installation of the product through cd the site advisor was failed so in both case what should i do.. please help

When installing McAfee make sure all previous entries in Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Programs pertaining to McAfee are uninstalled.  (Add or Remove Programs in XP)

Do the same for any previous antivirus and run their removal tool.

Run McAfee's removal tool (MCPR) which is linked under Useful Links at the top of this page or here: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Reboot

Run the McAfee Preinstall tool:  http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/McPreInstall.e xe

Install your software from your online account, https://home.mcafee.com/secure/protected/login.aspx?

Unless you don't yet have an account in which case use the CD.

also ensure that if you did have another AV installed that you removed it with its own removal tool as bits of other AVs cause activation and installation issues .

thanks for your suggestion, but afterwards i had chat with the mcafee tech and he told me that the cd. i am using could be corrupted so i have to asked my retailer for the change of cd.
